When you use Ace Studies, we collect the following types of information:
Account Information
When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a one-way hash). If you sign in via Google or another OAuth provider, we receive only the information permitted by that provider.
Usage Data
We log the exams you take, questions you answer, scores, time spent, and navigation patterns. This is what powers your progress dashboard and our adaptive question engine.
Device & Technical Data
We automatically collect your IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers for security monitoring and performance optimisation. This data is anonymised after 90 days.
Communications
If you contact our support team or send us feedback, we retain those messages to resolve issues and improve the product.
2. How We Use Your Data
To create and manage your account and authenticate your identity.
To personalise the question flow and difficulty using our AI engine.
To display your progress, analytics, and performance trends.
To send transactional emails (exam results, password resets, security alerts).
To send optional product updates and learning tips (opt-out anytime).

6. Security
We protect your data using industry standard measures: TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, access controls, regular security audits, and role based internal permissions. Despite best efforts, no system is 100% secure in the event of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you within 72 hours as required by applicable law.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we erase personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. billing records kept for 7 years). Aggregated, anonymised analytics are retained indefinitely.
8. Children's Privacy
Ace Studies is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly. Users aged 13–17 should have parental consent before registering.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and display a prominent notice on the platform at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
